Farewell to cheap and small phones from Motorola: Lenovo

By this year forward, handsets under Motorola will have 5inch or bigger display based to
SVP of Lenovo Group and President Cheng Xudong.

In an interview to Tech Sina, he was apparently quoted as stating that from this year forward all the smartphones produced under Motorola Brand will have fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the Motorola products will now concentrate towards the high-end while the Lenovo Vibe series will load the bottom end.

A week ago they also revealed their plan to eliminate the Motorola brand name. In a long run, all handsets under the brand will be called “Moto”. Motorola has been associated with wireless technology and in 1990s this introduced the iconic flip phone design and has been one of the top mobile phone makers until mid-2000s. However, the release of Android operating system in the market, the rivalry became to grow many folds and began losing its grip. Eventually, it was brought by Lenovo from Google 2014.
